The world premiere gala screening of The Infidel...

The world premiere gala screening of The Infidel kicked off with a one night only comedy event last Thursday at the Hammersmith Apollo.

The audience including guest such as Dizzy Rascal, Ruby Wax, Vanessa Feltz, Gurinder Chadha, Jimmy Mistry plus many more were treated to a feast of entertainment.

David Baddiel hosted the evening of film, live music and comedy including an exclusive stand-up set by Omid Djalili.

All proceeds from the premier went towards the charity CALM of which David Baddiel is a patron. CALM was launched in March 2006 to reduce suicide in young men. Suicide is the biggest killer in the UK for men aged 15-34

Written by David Baddiel, directed by Josh Appignanesi and starring British-Iranian actor and comedian Omid Djalili, The Infidel is a comedy of ethnic proportions.

Meet Mahmud Nasir (Omid Djalili), loving husband, doting father and something of a "relaxed" Muslim.  Does the "F" word occasionally pass his lips? It's hardly worth mentioning. Does he say his prayers five times a day? Of course! Well, usually...

Does he fast every day of Ramadan? Who's counting anyway?  He may not be the most observant, but in his heart he is as Muslim as it gets: which is helpful, as his son Rashid is about to marry the stepdaughter of a particularly fiery Islamic cleric.

But, after his mother's death a discovery turns Mahmud's world upside down. He finds his birth certificate which reveals that not only was he adopted at birth - but he's Jewish, and his real name is Solly Shimshillewitz....

We spoke to Ruby Wax who was one of the first to step on the red carpet that day to find out if she had any favourite brands of beauty products, she told us she was a huge fan of La Prairie.

Singer Jaya looked stunning in her beautiful yellow dress, she told us she was a huge fan of Mac make-up. She said she keeps in shape by running and dancing. She also said she always removes her make-up before going to bed.

Jimmy Mistry said he is a fan Boots No 7 for Men, he keeps in shape by boxing and Military training.
